WHAT WE DO

Bee Me Kidz was started because we care passionately about making sure that every child has the skills they need to succeed at school and in life.

Bee Me Kidz partners with parents, families, schools and communities to implement a four-pronged approach to building children’s and their families’ learning potential and resiliency through:

  1. A fun weekly Saturday program that includes a proven social/emotional learning component and a wholesome and nutritious family brunch
  2. Boosting children’s nutritional status by providing healthy, wholesome snacks during the Saturday program along with take-home snack bags for children for after the program
  3. On Saturdays, offering a parent education component (Parent Group) that enhances parents’ ability to support their children’s social and emotional needs at home as well as their own well-being
  4. Free childcare for siblings during the parents support component.

To help them feel part of a group, every Bee Me Kidz child (in Grades 1-3) is given a free Bee Me Kidz hoodie on their first day. Once they attend 6 times in a school year they receive a Bee Me Kidz Jacket.

Bee Me Leaderz children (Grades 4 & 5) receive their Bee Me Leaderz sweater once they have attended 6 times in a school year.

In addition, each child has a chance to be the “Bee Me Kid/Leader of the Week” at least once throughout the year. On Saturday, the “Bee Me Kid/Leader of the Week” is given special tasks for which they receive acknowledgement and compliments from their program leaders, parents and other Bee Me Kidz in their class. They wear a special “Bee Me Kid of the Week” sticker with pride and receive an inspirational poster to take home with their compliments.
